Who We Are
Our Mission
Mozee Motorsports is the SAE Formula Hybrid team from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. We are a student-led organization that focuses on the design, manufacturing, and competing of a hybrid formula style race car. Our team is made up of members from all engineering disciplines working together and gaining skills through hands-on applications of engineering.
We engage in all aspects of automotive engineering fields, accomplishing MSOE's goals and furthering the MSOE Mindset. Our members become leaders of character; responsible professionals; passionate learners; and value creators, and all of this is furthered through the experiences they have on this team. Today, Mozee Motorsports is comprised of over 50 members.
How the Team Is Structured
Each year we work at a high level to reach our goals of creating a functional and reliable hybrid formula style race car and competing at international competitions. To accomplish this, the team is organized into a series of subteams which each focus on a major component of the car. The subteams are split between a mechanical side and an electrical side: mechanical is divided into chassis, controls, powertrain, and integration, while electrical is divided into high voltage and low voltage.
Chassis
Mechanical subteam focused on the structure of the car, the frame the entire vehicle is built around.
Controls
Mechanical subteam responsible for the systems the driver uses to control the car on track.
Powertrain
Mechanical subteam focused on the hybrid systems that generate power and deliver it to the track.
Integration
Mechanical subteam that brings the work of every subteam together into one functional, reliable car.
Electrical: High Voltage
Electrical subteam responsible for the high voltage systems at the heart of the hybrid powertrain.
Electrical: Low Voltage
Electrical subteam responsible for the car's low voltage systems and electronics.
With each subteam furthering its own knowledge and combining that with the others, the team is able to accomplish a lot and push the goals of students in the automotive engineering industry.
A Championship History
Our team is a three-time World Champion, with wins in 2017, 2022, and 2024. Last year, we placed 2nd in the Hybrid Category with our car, the MP7, and 6th overall in the design competition. Our car's design scored higher than those of teams from Harvard, Yale, and Dartmouth. At the 2024-2025 Formula Hybrid + Electric competition, the team also took 2nd in engineering design and 4th in project management.
